Microforks are generally suited for capturing soft materials that the sharp tips can
penetrate. They can also be used for objects made of hard materials having pre-existing
holes or other features spaced to match the spacing of the tines of the fork.
This Micro Fork has single sided barbs that are rounded to allow for catch & release
of specimens. It does not have a sharp barb to snag the specimen, so it won't cause
damage when it is pulled out, and it can be pulled out easily. This would be suitable for
inanimate specimens that are not subjected to significant shocks or vibrations.
Since the materials are single crystal silicon and pyrex it can be used in air, vacuum, and
most liquids. The forks can withstand temperatures from 550 C to -273 C.
